Hynes Developments

Hynes Developments is a research oriented development company focused on creating environments that are responsive to the needs of people. Our research is about understanding how architecture, technology and urban form influence the lives and well being of the people they serve. We bring together the finest minds in a wide range of disciplines to collaborate both on project design and fundamental research. The results of this process are specific projects, each representing the state of our understanding at the time.

Our purpose here is to give voice to the many layers embodied in our work. Current projects are featured as works in development, showing the application of our design principles and following our research in the project. Selected completed projects are also presented, along with the experiences of people from the communities they serve.

Don Vaughan

With incisive intelligence and profound insight, Don Vaughan has the ability to see through problems rather than simply look into them. His expertise is the field of landscape architecture; his vocation is the human experience. With great depth and maturity, he is capable of guiding towards better paths and creating environments that create a sense of identity and distinction.

James Hancock

Jim is arguably one of the most prolific high rise designers in Canada, and possibly one of the most frustrated. Jim wants nothing less than to abandon established models and to break out into new experimental forms. He firmly believes that high rise living is the way of the future but its current forms are culturally vitiated and soulless. Jim is an active mover in encouraging creative new forms and is philosophically in tune with our objectives.

James Hancock, MAIBC, of IBI/HB Architects, is responsible for the design of the high-rise residential towers.

H B Lanarc

Mark Holland recognizes the necessity for radical change in urban form. He shares our commitment to finding new ways of living in urban environments that are naturally attractive and naturally to our environments. For him, Seylynn Village embodies this sustainable vision in which he strives to achieve. It is a project that aggressively pushes him rather the other way around. He and his team of experts have been an important cornerstone in the planning and development of Seylynn Village.
